First Visit
Congratulations on taking the first step towards sleeping and living better! From meeting our team to our customized treatment approach, here’s what you can expect during your first visit with THE SLEEP TEAM. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Our goal is for your first visit to be a comfortable one where you will get to know us and we can talk about your personal health needs. We will take the required time to properly discuss your health concerns, review your past medical and dental history, and create a treatment plan that addresses your condition. With your cooperation, we will complete a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan to help you breathe better, sleep better and live longer!
Before your visit
Appointments can be requested online or by telephone at 702-518-5151. Once you’ve scheduled your appointment, a confirmation will be emailed to you along with a request to complete new patient paperwork.
If you’re a new patient and plan to use insurance, please provide your medical insurance information when you schedule your appointment and bring your insurance card with you to your first visit. We recommend that you arrive at least 10 minutes early for in-person appointments.
24-hour cancelation policy: reach out to our team as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment so we can offer that time to another patient in need.
First Visit
On your initial consultation with THE SLEEP TEAM, we obtain important background information, review your medical history, and talk with you about how sleep apnea and/or snoring impacts your life. You will have time to get to know our sleep dentist, Dr. Rodriguez-Valle, and to learn about our treatment program options. The consultation includes a thorough dental examination in order to determine whether you’re a proper candidate for oral appliance therapy.
If you were referred to us by your physician and have a sleep study and an appliance prescription and you wish to start therapy right away, we will take a digital scan. We use state of the art digital intra oral scanning technology to obtain custom impressions of your upper and lower teeth. These impressions are used to fabricate your custom oral appliance.
Second Visit
On your second visit, we deliver your new custom oral appliance and check for proper fit. During this appointment, we instruct you on how to wear, titrate and clean your custom oral appliance to maintain it in great shape!
Follow Up Appointments
Follow up appointments are designed to evaluate the effectiveness and progress of your treatment. We assess the appliance, its fit, form and function and any physical changes. In addition, we perform an oral exam to determine any changes in bite, the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and tooth mobility. We need to asses any changes in your general medical condition, including changes in your signs and symptoms of snoring and/or sleep apnea to make sure you are getting the best medical treatment.
We are here for you, call us!
