Can’t Use Your CPAP? Oral Appliance Therapy Can Be The Perfect Solution!
Say goodbye to cumbersome CPAP machines and hello to the convenience and effectiveness of custom-made oral appliances. An oral appliance is a small retainer-like device that fits over your upper and lower teeth (similar to a mouth guard or an orthodontic retainer). This device slightly advances the lower jaw moving the base of the tongue forward to open the airway. This improves breathing and reduces or eliminates snoring and sleep apnea.

Advantages of Oral Appliance Therapy
Many sleep apnea patients prefer oral appliance therapy as opposed to other treatment methods because:
- Oral appliance therapy is a holistic, non-surgical and non-invasive treatment for snoring and apnea.
- Unlike a CPAP machine, oral appliances are quiet, they do NOT make noise that can disturb the wearer or their bed partner.
- Using and maintaining a sleep appliance is easier and more affordable than a CPAP since there are no filters and parts to change.
- Sleep appliances are small and easy to travel with and can easily fit into virtually any bag, purse, or pocket.
- They are easy to clean.
- Sleep appliances are custom designed for each patient for maximum comfort and efficiency.

Custom-Made for Every Patient
At THE SLEEP TEAM, we don’t simply take an impression of a patient’s teeth and send them home with an generic mouthguard. Rather, we spend the time to fully understand a patients needs and use this information to digitally design a custom appliance that fits perfectly and improves their sleep.

Oral appliances are indicated for patients with snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea who prefer oral appliances to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). Oral Appliances are also indicated for severe patients, who have difficulty tolerating, are non-compliant with or refuse CPAP therapy. American Academy of Sleep Medicine
